Privacy Policy
CalmShift ("we") is an app made by TURGUT SONMEZ (t-apps), Türkiye. This policy explains what the app collects, why, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. Contact: turgut.sonmez@t-apps.io.
App versions before 1.0.14 are covered by the previous policy.
The short version
- No ads, no advertising ID, no selling of data, no tracking across other companies' apps.
- The AI coach sends your messages to OpenAI only after you agree, and never your name, email or account ID.
- You can delete your account and its data in the app: Settings > Delete My Account.
1. What we collect
- Account. If you sign in with Apple, Google or an email address, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and a user ID. You can also start without an account: the app then creates a random user ID.
- Your quit profile. What you are quitting (cigarettes, vapes or both), how much you used, prices and currency, your quit date and the reasons you chose. We use it to show your progress, savings and health milestones.
- Craving logs. Time, intensity, triggers, any note you write, and whether you got through the craving.
- AI coach chats. Your messages and the coach's replies, so you can come back to the conversation.
- Purchases. Whether you have a subscription and your purchase history. Apple or Google handle the payment; we never see your card details.
- Usage analytics. Which screens and features are used (for example "paywall viewed"), an app instance ID, device model, operating system, app version, language and approximate country. We collect this only for installs from the App Store or Google Play, to understand what helps people and what to fix.
- Crash reports. Device model, operating system, app version and technical details of the crash.
The quit profile, craving logs and chats are health-related information that you choose to enter. We use them only to provide the app's features to you.
We do not use an advertising ID, do not show ads, do not sell your data and do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
2. The AI coach and OpenAI
The coach's replies are written by an AI model from OpenAI (USA).
- What is sent: to write a reply we send OpenAI your message, up to the last 12 messages of the conversation and your app language.
- What is not sent: your name, email address or account ID.
- Asking first: the app asks for your permission before the first message is sent. You can withdraw it at any time from the coach's information screen; the coach then asks again before your next message.
- Without permission: the coach does not send anything, and the rest of the app works as usual.
- OpenAI's terms: according to OpenAI's API data policy, data sent through the API is not used to train its models, and abuse monitoring logs are kept for up to 30 days.
3. Who helps us process your data
- Google Firebase (Google): sign-in, our database, the server functions (the AI coach and account deletion run in the EU, europe-west1), analytics and crash reports.
- RevenueCat: subscription status and purchase history.
- OpenAI: writing the AI coach's replies, only after your permission (section 2).
- Apple and Google: sign-in with their accounts, and payments.
These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States.
4. How long we keep it
- Your account data, quit profile, craving logs and chats stay in your account until you delete the account.
- Detailed analytics event data is kept for 2 months. User-level analytics data is kept for 14 months after your last activity in the app.
- OpenAI keeps its abuse monitoring logs for up to 30 days (section 2).
5. Deleting your account
In the app go to Settings > Delete My Account.
- What is deleted: your account and everything stored in it on our servers (profile, craving logs, AI coach chats).
- On your device: the app's data on the device is cleared.
- If you signed in with Apple, you can also remove CalmShift from your Apple ID settings, under Sign in with Apple.
- Subscriptions: deleting the account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU GDPR or Turkey's KVKK), you can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent at any time. To do so, write to turgut.sonmez@t-apps.io. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
7. Children
CalmShift is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Health information
CalmShift gives general support and information. It is not a medical device and does not replace advice from a doctor. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
9. Changes
When we change this policy we update the date above, and we tell you in the app about important changes.
